Excursion Commission East-West: Museum Singer Laren
The East-West Commission cordially invites members of the KVVAK to a guided tour of the exhibition: The Worlds of Jan Toorop on Saturday 25 April at 2.00 pm at the Singer Laren Museum in Laren.
Jan Toorop (1858–1928) is best known as one of the Netherlands’ greatest avant-garde artists from the early 20th century. Far less well known is that he grew up in Java and that he incorporated these Indonesian and Chinese influences into his avant-garde art in a multifaceted and subtle manner.
Using eighty of his works, the guided tour will explore Jan Toorop’s art, cultural background and artistic cross-pollination. The tour lasts approximately one hour and takes place in groups of up to 15 people. Participants are kindly requested to arrive by 1.30 pm.
The cost of the guided tour is €10 per person (please pay in cash to the committee prior to the tour). Please note: this does not include any museum admission fees of €19.50. Museum Year Card holders have free admission to the museum.
We look forward to welcoming you to Singer Laren on Saturday 25 April!
