Lectures-afternoon on Chinese Ceramics

The KVVAK cordially invites its members to a lecture afternoon on Chinese ceramics with lectures by Dr. Feng Chun Ma and Dr. Christine Ketel.

Dr. Christine Ketel will speak on “Dutch orders of Chinese porcelain during the first half of the 17th century” and Dr. Feng-Chun Ma will discuss the motif of the “Hundred Boys” – a common decorative theme on Chinese porcelain. This motif reflects deep-rooted cultural values in a society where having sons and carrying on the family name were of great importance.
