On 7 March, the ceramics committee of the KVVAK invites you to a special meeting about the wonderful world of tea and ceramics. Anne Sey will talk about the history and design language of the chawan in Japanese tradition. In addition, Tineke van Gilst will present a selection from the travelling exhibition DutCHawan, featuring contemporary interpretations of the tea bowl by thirty Dutch ceramists. Sergey Shevelev will display an exceptional collection of Asian tea bowls and pots and talk — in English — about their origins, use and special repair techniques such as kintsugi and jù cí. The afternoon will conclude with a Chinese tea tasting.
