Lecture Dr. Shih-shan Susan Huang: The Dynamic Spread of Buddhist Print Culture in China and Beyond

At the invitation of the Hulsewé-Wazniewski Foundation at Leiden University, Susan Huang (PhD) will be in the Netherlands from 13 to 19 April. She is an associate professor in the Department of Transnational Asian Studies at Rice University in Houston. On this afternoon, Prof Anne Gerritsen will give a short introduction, after which Susan Huang will deliver her lecture.

Lectures: Shiva Nataraja in the spotlights

The KVVAK cordially invites you to an afternoon of two lectures (in English) on the Shiva Nataraja, the well-known bronze statue of the gods centrally placed in the Asian Pavilion of the Rijksmuseum. In recent years, new research has been conducted on the origin, meaning and visual manifestation of this statue. This research is now being presented to members.
